Can anyone order a copy of my medical records?
No. There are only certain people that can obtain a copy of your medical records. These individuals include:
- You, the patient
- Anyone you granted power of attorney to
- If under the age of 18, your parent
- Your legal guardian, if any
- A representative of the estate for deceased patients
- A spouse with your written consent
