What is chart indexing and linking and why is it helpful?
Chart indexing is helpful for attorneys that utilize medical records in their cases. Often, medical records are received by healthcare providers and are a jumbled mess. This makes it difficult to review the files for the information relevant to the case. Indexing and linking is the process of organizing these medical records. The process starts by numbering all of the pages in the chart. Then, a keyword index is created that allows the reviewer to easily locate sorted material. Hyperlinks can also be added to the pages, allowing you to click a keyword to view the relevant pages. This entire process makes it much easier to view and analyze medical records.
